Current courses

LIFESCI 3M03: Cellular Dynamics - Roles in Human Health and Disease

This advanced course explore the nuances in how cells behave and communicate with each other. Cancer, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and neurodevelopment differences are used as case studies to better understand topics such as cell adhesion, stem cell dynamics, and RNA transport.

LIFESCI 3XX3: Peer Mentoring in the Life Sciences

This course explores the pedagogy of peer mentorship. Students apply what they learn by providing support, advice, and guidance to more junior life science students. They will also have the opportunity to assess their progress as mentors and communicate their findings using various science communication strategies.

LIFESCI 3W03: Genetic & Epigenetic Determinants of Health

In this advanced course, students are further explore the genetic and epigenetic determinants of health. Through case studies and recent literature, students will explore the genetic and epigenetic causes of health disparities in various groups, including Indigenous and racialized populations.

LIFESCI 4DD3: Racism & Inequities in Science and Healthcare

In this course students explore, discuss, and critique how racism, prejudice, and biases have shaped scientific thought and medical practice. Students also discuss how systemic racism has impacted how racialized and marginalized groups receive health care.

ISCI 1A24

I co-teach the Life Science Component of this unique 24-unit course. In my sections, students are introduced to fundamental concepts and theories in genetics, molecular biology, and cell biology.

Thesis supervision + co-supervision

I have also supervised or co-supervised students for the following courses.

LIFESCI 4D15: Independent Thesis

LIFESCI 4C12: Independent Thesis

LIFESCI 4B09: Independent Thesis

LIFESCI 4A03: Independent Study
LIFESCI 3RP3: Research Practicum

There may be an opportunity for an ambitious student for LIFESCI 4A03 in W2026. Please read FAQ before applying.
